Oops… ! 3rd Audition Callback: Correction
Monday, October 24th, 2005Guess I must have sent out some mojo into the universe with my post. Just got the email about the callback I did a week ago. Alas it was not to be or not to be. Oh well.

I’m so over it at this point. Having had little audition experience I have no idea what the standard practices are with regards to letting people who auditioned for you know that they didn’t get the part. For my first callback I received a very nice email from the director thanking us for our time. It seems to me that this should be the way that all companies do things. Perhaps it’s hit or miss with this. I’ve learned from the experience and have moved on. ‘Nuff said.
I have to get things moving here. Find a focus to my life. Too many hours lost. Not depression really… unsure what it is. Perhaps today was recouping time from a big day on Monday? It wasn’t a big day in that I did a whole lot of stuff, but it was a big day in that I had an audition and I got my new headshots back. Perhaps just alot of psychic stuff going on… energy moving around and such.
I just would like to put together a string of consistent killer productive days. I’d like to find my purpose and make concrete progress daily towards it. I have flashes. I have good days. I also have entire days lost.
What to do?
Right now, time for bed. We’ll see what tomorrow holds for me.
I thought that the audition went well last night. I have no idea whether or not I got the part but I’m learning that whether or not you get the part is really not the point. It’s about putting yourself out there consistently and learning what you can from each new experience.
It was quite an interesting process. I read the scene I’d prepared (from the sides they’d sent me) and was asked to hang around to read for the other directors for two other shows they’re putting on. (One was a cold read of a Shakespeare monologue… interesting choice…. the other was a 3 page two person scene). That part is standard. What was unusual was the way we read for the other two shows. They had us all in the room together reading for the two directors. We got to see and hear the other actors doing the scene we had to audition with over and over again. It was a bit distracting but also interesting to get to see other actors work.
I’m more and more grateful for the training I’ve received and know that I really do have something special to put out there. I want to continue to hone the skills I’ve acquired and become a better actor. Every time I audition is another chance to work out my technique put into practice the things I’ve been taught.
We’ll see how it goes!

Just finished teaching a bass lesson. Wanted to make a note to myself that I’m really grateful for the opportunity to pass along some of the knowledge that I’ve acquired with regards to music/acting/life. It is a definite cool thing.
There’s nothing stopping you from making this day something exceptional. Sure it might be crappy weather. Maybe you’re not feeling so hot or didn’t get enough sleep the night before for whatever reason. There’s still nothing stopping you from making this day something exceptional. That begins with you inside your head. The rest tends to fall in line.
Concept:
Track exercise here with everything else I’m doing to move forward with my life.
Details:
Every post will be tagged “Exercise” with a sub-tag for the specific body part (Upper, Core, Cardio)
Why?:
I’ll be able to go back and see in an instant what my past level of exercise has been for each specific body part and adjust my training accordingly

It’s really been a bit of a wasted couple of days. I have a little under two hours before I need to be in bed. I’m going to write one thing down and then do that for the next two hours. We’ll see what I get done.
Time to call it quits for the evening. It’s helpful to approach things in this manner at times I think. Each task is clear cut and you can point to a definite “I did this” list when you’re through.
Just got a callback for the thing I auditioned for on Friday. Just wanted to make a note of it here. If nothing else I’m discovering that every time I get to do my monologue for people it’s a new learning experience under my belt. Each time feels a little different. Different energies depending on the people in the room and where I’m at on that day.
